Business Services focus on assisting employers with
their workforce development and staffing needs. SW is responsve to immediated needs for staffing and employee
training and partners with WorkNet Chicago to have a city-wide reach to supply job-seekers for available positions.
SW broadcasts job openings and manages the entire referral process by pre-screening all applicants that referred to employers.
ServiceWorks also fosters responsiveness to emerging workforce and business demands.
The Workforce Center will
engage in a City-wide strategy to partner with service businesses. These business include companies of all sizes, hotels,
conventions, tourism related businesses, restaurants, retail, and the variety of customer service operations. The primary
objective of the Workforce Center and these partnerships is to enhance the workforce quality in Chicago. This will make it
easier for businesses to attract, improve upon and to retain employees. The Center uses a demand driven approach to drive
the development off its service offerings. It develops innovative strategies and long term solutions to meet business needs.
Provides businesses with a pool of qualified candidates for job openings. Serves as the clearing house to identify qualified
candidates through WorkNet Chicago to fill employers’ current job openings.
Demand driven approaches result
in a higher level of responsiveness for meeting the workforce needs of businesses. Prepares businesses to meet current and
emerging workforce needs. Reduces recruitment costs and saves staff time.
Business Service staff consults with
each employer to assess workforce development needs. ServiceWorks supports employers who engage in employee skill training
and career path advancement. Business Service staff assist employers in developing a hiring campaign that includes:
